The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges Au Bas de Combe veers toward more red fruit than black, compared to the NSG Les Lavieres. The palate is very poised and surfeit with minerality. I detected a little more brightness and verve compared to the Les Lavieres with a prickle of white pepper toward the composed finish.

Near Vosne. Two casks made. Spice and refinement on the nose. So sweet and perfumed! The less energetic side of Nuits. (JR)
