This is showing some wild herb elements alongside red cherries and raw mushrooms. Orange peel, too. It’s bright and juicy, medium-bodied, with silky tannins. Some spicy licorice coming through. Long and moreish. Drink now or hold.

The 2019 Pommard Les Rugiens-Haut 1er Cru has an elegant Morello cherry, strawberry and wilted rose petal nose, a touch of sous-bois , nicely-defined with good presence. The palate is fleshy and sweet with hints of Clementine infusing the red fruit, good acidity here with ample length and weight. This has the substance that is missing in some of Glantenay's other cuvées, hence the higher score.
