Tasting notes
Carter's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard delivers complex fruit notes—black raspberries, cassis and blueberries—balanced against deep savory shadings—mocha, tar and black olives. Those are all easily carried on the full-bodied palate by a rich, velvety mouthfeel and ample length on the finish. This should drink well for a couple of decades.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper, a new wine in this range, is terrific. It has all the savoriness that is such a signature of this southern sector in Oakville, along with the textural richness readers have come to expect from Mark Carter. I love the energy and vibrancy here. The Hopper Cabernet is a great addition to this lineup. Don't miss it.
From a great valley floor site, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard reveals a deep purple color as well as lots of kirsch and darker fruits, medium to full body, supple tannins, and an overall pure, elegant style that will drink well for upwards of 20 years.
