Tasting notes
Espresso, flowers cocoa and black plums with a touch of spice open the nose. The wine is juicy, and flavorful, offering a big blast of chewy. dark, red fruits, cocoa and espresso on the mid-palate and in the spicy, fresh finish. The wine is interesting as you often find as much as 50% of the blend devoted to old vine Petit Verdot along with Merlot. Drink from 2023-2038.

The 2020 Château Bolaire is outstanding, with a medium-bodied, round, fruit-loaded style as well as a great perfume of cassis and ripe blue fruits, some leafy herb and mineral notes, supple tannins, and outstanding length.
The 2020 Bolaire, which lies adjacent to Giscours, has quite a broody bouquet with dark berry fruit, cedar and damp autumn leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with "chunky" tannins, muscular yet clean with a dash of black pepper on the finish. Bit brutish at the moment, but it is redeemed by its freshness.
The 2020 Bolaire is attractive, but also a bit light in this vintage. Super-ripe red cherry, kirsch, sweet spice and orange peel are nicely pushed forward. In 2020 Bolaire is quite ripe and forward, but it is also missing a bit of customary mid-palate depth, while the finish feels abrupt.
