2019 Enkircher Ellergrub Auslese 01 20

The gold-capsuled 2019 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Auslese opens with a concentrated and spicy bouquet of stewed and dried stone fruit aromas and a hint of honey, grapefruit and raisins all wrapped in a house of slate. Concentrated, dense and sweet on the palate, this is a richer style of Auslese with the piquancy and sustainability of the great Ellergrub terroir. There are ripe peach and nectarine flavors on the aftertaste. This is an excellent and age-worthy Auslese bottled with 8% alcohol and remarkable acidity that cuts the sweetness like Siegfried's sword. Tasted in May 2020.
