The 2015 Isliedh, which was made by winemaker Duncan Savage, has an attractive nose with gooseberry and nettle, wet wool and light marine scents - not dissimilar from a very fine Muscadet in an odd way. The palate is well balanced with good depth on the entry, lightly spiced with touches of peach skin and honeysuckle. Very fine length. This is ageing wonderfully.

The 2015 Isliedh Sauvignon Blanc comes from vines located towards the top of the estate, mainly on windswept granite soils. It is a blend of 83% Sauvignon Blanc and 17% Semillon, matured in 40% new French oak barrels for ten months. This has an earthier bouquet compared to the Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, cold stone and flinty notes merging with dew-dappled Granny Smith apples and freshly sliced pear. The palate is very well balanced with fine acidity, that flintiness surfacing once again, coupled with sea spray and oyster shell aromas. The persistence in the mouth is very impressive, the saline finish urging you back for one more sip.
