Tasting notes
This is very beautiful, but it’s not at all loud, rather it is quiet and delicate and slowly creeps up on you. Then, suddenly, the backbone of a mighty creature begins to emerge from the deep. Super fine tannins and wonderful mineral freshness at the very precise finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Petits Monts unwinds in the glass with aromas of raspberries, bolos orange, spices, potpourri and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, lively and mineral, it's deep and concentrated, with the most reserved profile of any premier cru in the range, concluding with a long and vibrant finish.
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts 1er Cru, which until now I did not realize is owned by Véronique Drouhin-Boss personally, includes 40% whole cluster. It has a wonderful bouquet of violet-infused red plum and cranberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Full of tension and energy with good grip toward the sensual finish. Excellent.
About the producer

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
