The 2019 Volnay Village is showing nicely unwinding in the glass with aromas of plums, violets, raw cocoa, spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, it's bright and lively, with a sumptuous core of fruit and a mineral finish.

The 2019 Volnay Village, matured in used oak barrels, has such a pretty nose with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit. Quite floral in style. The palate is well balanced with a rather sappy opening. Nice grip here with touches of pepper towards the persistent finish. Good structure, quasi-Pommard maybe.
Six parcels. Cask sample. Quite evolved already on the nose. Very seductive aromatically and with massive fruit on the palate. Low acid and soft tannins – you could drink this very soon. (JR)
