The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Grand Cru is quite pungent on the nose. There’s some SO2 still floating around, but there is decent concentration underneath, and the sulphur retreats with time in the glass. The palate is well balanced with some chewiness on the entry. There's a lot of matière here. This is a grippy and assertive Chevalier, though possibly at the expense of finesse and precision. There is a chance that this could be entering a dumbed down phase. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The king of the cellar this year is the 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a superb effort that unwinds in the glass with inviting aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, fresh bread, crisp orchard fruit, toasted almonds and honeycomb. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's satiny and structured, with a ripe but chiseled profile that exemplifies the vintage at its best.

The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru is beautifully defined on the nose, featuring wonderful crushed limestone and gunflint scents that permeate the green apple aromas. Very focused and intense. The palate is extremely well balanced with a powerful opening, very saline and so full of energy. Enormous weight and presence toward the finish. This is an outstanding Chevalier-Montrachet from Jadot.
