Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fournaux was protected by cloud cover from the frost unlike the upper reaches of vineyard. It has an engaging, very pure and slightly floral bouquet with red cherries, bilberry and briary scents, a cold stone aroma tucked underneath. The palate is very harmonious with very fine tannin, the whole bunch lending a slight earthiness toward the finish that lingers. This is such an impressive wine in the context of the growing season.
