A peppery whole-bunch nose, with sweet spice, tobacco and tomato leaf. Tight on the palate with very firm tannins. A note of iron, hoisin and dark cherry – energy coursing through its veins. Fascinating wine that should age incredibly well. (AC)

The 2019 Geronimo is whole-bunch-fermented Cinsault aged in used French oak for 10 months. It has a very perfumed bouquet of red cherries, pomegranate and rose petal scents that soar from the glass. The palate is well balanced and poised, with fresh acidity and a dash of white pepper. Focused and minerally on the cerebral finish, which lingers in the mouth. Top drawer.
