Tasting notes
Polished, restrained nose. The opposite of showy but the nose is more open than the Shäfer-Fröhlich version. Firm, even savoury. The fruit is yet to blossom but the corset is in great shape. Definitely needs time. (JR)

The 2019 Frühlingsplätzchen GG opens with an excitingly pure, precise and mineral bouquet of ripe and refined Riesling aromas, wet red slate and attractive reductive notes. On the palate, this is a very pure but juicy and very elegant Riesling with ripe and intense fruit aromas that are swirled around by great finesse and elegance as well as the piquant, mineral grip and salinity of the Frühlingsplätzchen. This is precision at its very best and surely one of the finest (and purest) Rieslings you can find in the Nahe Valley from the 2019 vintage. It is most likely the finest Frühlingsplätzchen I have ever tasted from any producer. Tasted as a sample in May 2020.
