AP number 11 20. Lemon-sherbet nose. Then some pure, limpid Riesling fruit threaded through with ground-up rocks. Really good structure but round and quite evolved already. Good persistence and balance. (JR)

Heymann-Löwenstein's 2019 Uhlen Roth Lay shows an intense golden-yellow color and opens with a shockingly deep, pure, fresh and utterly complex bouquet of perfectly ripe fruits seamlessly intertwined with very fine slate and herbal aromas. On the palate, it is mouthfilling, rich and fruity yet also piquant and with a stringent mineral grip, drive and tension. This is a very powerful and tight yet sustainable Riesling from the Uhlen's most exciting sub-terroir that combines power, richness and complexity with elegance, finesse and purity. The alcohol is noticeable and surfing on the border yet doesn't taste bitter. This will not be available for sale until September 2021. Tasted as a barrel sample in June 2020.
