The 2015 Barolo is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the red berry and floral notes remain fresh. Alberto Burzi crafts this wine from a collection of parcels in La Morra.

La Morra. Bottled 30 August 2018. Maceration on the skins of about 20 days. This is a blend from several La Morra vineyards varying in age from 20 to 60 years. Submerged cap ‘to not break the skins. I believe more and more in cappello sommerso , it increases the complexity and while the tannins seem aggressive at the beginning, with time they become softer.’ Only mid ruby and as Nebbiolo should be. Peppery and concentrated but at the same time reluctant to open up fully. Hints of iron. Elegant and with notes of sweet fruit on the palate and sweet, ripe tannins on the finish adding grip. Can age too and will improve. (WS)
