Tasting notes
The 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is attractive, winsome on the nose with flecks of white chocolate and shaved almond combining nicely with the honeyed fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is well-balanced with a viscous opening, and impressive purity as it fans out on the finish. A residual ginger note pops up on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. Quite lifted, subtle nose with peachiness and opulence but good freshness and acidity too. Long. (JR)
The 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a pure bouquet of dried honey, quince and white flower scents that are beautifully integrated with the oak. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, with fine acidity and real intensity on the finish. This is a wonderful, tensile Sauternes that should age with style.
Bright and effusive, with terrific persistence, the 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is so alluring. Tangerine peel, passionfruit, mint, pineapple and a kiss of new French oak are all beautifully delineated. Even with all of its intensity, the 2019 remains gracious and light on its feet. Superb. Tasted two times
