Tasting notes
Red / blue fruit aromas with underlying clove spice. Open-knit soft tannins, summer fruit pudding flavours. Generous fruit, some decent breadth on the palate from very refined tannin. Definitly pushing the ripeness. Blueberry and candied violets but lightly strucutred for a Pauillac. Very open, fruit forward, almost approachable. Balanced fruity/ fleshy ripe Pauillac for mid-term cellaring.

The 2019 Pédesclaux has a slightly smudged, rather oaky nose with a touch of brown sugar infusing the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a herbaceous entry, light and lacking depth, harsh and abrasive on the finish. This is a perplexing showing from a wine that tasted so good last year. Errant bottle? Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
Tasted blind. Grey crimson. Sweet and a little overripe. More freshness please! Though the finish has some acidity and nerve. (JR)
A gorgeous wine, the 2019 Château Pédesclaux shines for its pure, elegant, yet concentrated style, and it's certainly one of the finest vintages from this address. Cassis, black cherries, lead pencil, and violet notes all emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. The purity and finesse are truly something here, and while it already offers pleasure, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20+ years.
