A blend of close to equal parts Sauvignon and Semillon, the 2017 R De Rieussec offers a classic Bordeaux blanc nose of ripe lemons, white flowers, and crushed rocks. With a touch of salinity, medium body, and bright acidity, it's a classy, balanced, high-quality white.
The 2017 R de Rieussec is absolutely gorgeous. Orchard fruit, lime, white flowers and mint are beautifully delineated. There is a level of depth and density to the 2017 that is truly remarkable. At the same time, the 2017 preserves remarkable aromatic freshness as well as plenty of nuance. Today, the R is striking. Don’t miss it.
The dry white from Rieussec, the 2017 R de Rieussec is close to equal amounts Sémillon and Sauvignon. It has lots of white grapefruit, citrus, and some saline-like minerality to go with a ripe, medium-bodied, vibrant style on the palate. It’s complex, with vibrant acidity and notable elegance, and my money is on it drinking nicely for upwards of a decade.
