(made from fruit grown in the Luchsinger, Bohan Ranch and Bartolomei vineyards; vinified with 100% whole clusters and native yeasts): Light red. Dried strawberry, blood orange and rhubarb on the incisive nose, with a spicy nuance adding complexity. A juicy, tightly focused lightweight that offers refreshingly bitter red fruit flavors and notes of white pepper and succulent herbs. Very accurate to the variety, finishing with strong cut, gentle tannins and a lingering cherry pit quality.

Quite a bit of fruit from Clear Lake apparently. Pale ruby. Round and scented. Gloriously unusual! Rose petals and a bit of sweetness. Far from a 'godforsaken' grape. Light bodied with some light tannins in evidence on the end. Exuberant. GV (JR)
The 2012 Trousseau is another drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Sweet tobacco, mint, leather and dried cherries literally waft from the glass in a wine of pure sensual beauty. The style is aromatic, lifted and gorgeous. The Trousseau is hard to describe with words, but imagine a fine, aged red Burgundy in the bouquet with the fruit density of a young, mid-weight red. Faded rose petals and sweet dried cherries linger on the close. The 2012 is a blend of the three sites, Luchsinger (the source of the original fruit for this bottling), Bohan-Dillon in the Fort Ross-Seavie AVA, and Bartholomei in the Green Valley AVA.
