The flagship 2018 Cornas Reynard comes from one of the top terroirs in the great appellation, the steep, south-facing Reynard lieu-dit. A big, dense purple color is followed by rich notes of blueberries, raspberries, acacia flowers, ground pepper, and violets. With ripe, present tannins, a concentrated, full-bodied mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish, this brilliant Cornas can be drunk over the coming 15+ years.

The 2018 Cornas Reynard boasts considerably more richness and volume than the Harmonie. From less than two hectares of 40- to 50-year-old vines, it boasts cool scents of pencil shavings and crushed stone, then follows up with deep notes of mixed currants. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, it turns silky and elegant on the lengthy finish. Lovely stuff out of barrel.
