2017 Santenay Clos de Tavannes

The 2017 Santenay 1er Cru Clos des Tavannes unfurls in the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, smoke, licorice and subtle hints of forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and muscular, with the most concentration and powdery structuring tannin of any wine in the range, but it also has the most reserved, introverted profile. With a little bottle age, it should prove Pierrot's finest 2017 red.
