Quite rich and structured. Rather lovely name! Lots to discover here – very long and layered. GV (JR)

The 2017 Volnay Clos de la Caves includes 50% whole bunches that makes a difference on the nose offering tobacco and undergrowth aromas, a touch of black tea that complement the brambly red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, a brisk line of acidity, nothing powerful or intense but there is fine precision on the understated finish. Drink over the next decade.
