Tasting notes
The 2018 Syrah is a blend of 50% Rodney's Syrah, 25% Colson Canyon Syrah and 25% Colson Canyon Grenache. Graphite, lavender, sage, scorched earth and licorice add striking layers of intensity to this big, full-throttle wine. The tannins need time to soften, but there is plenty to look forward to once that happens.

Tensley's 2018 Syrah BMT is dense, plush and incredibly inviting. Seamless and deep, with no hard edges and exceptional balance, the BMT is unbelievably harmonious for such a young wine. The 2018 was racked and blended only a few months ago, and yet it is incredibly well-amalgamated and put together. The purity of the fruit and finesse of the tannins are out of this world.
A finished barrel sample, the 2018 Syrah BMT has an opaque purple-black color with aromas of dark chocolate, fried sage, red and black cherries, red berry hints and loads of violet and lilac perfume. Full-bodied, it floods the mouth with intense, luscious dark fruits and savory notions, framed by firm, pleasantly chewy tannins and great juicy freshness, finishing long and layered. This has so much potential!
