2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III

Myriad's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III Empyream has a bit more energy and structure than the straight Georges III in 2017, and that helps balancing some of the more overt elements in the fruit. Curiously, these blocks were picked a bit later than those used for the straight Georges III. All the elements simply fall into place, with dark fruit, chocolate, leather and earthy accents that are all so typical of this Rutherford site. (AG)

Super-ripe dark plum, chocolate, spice, espresso and licorice are all kicked up a few notches here. Powerful and opulent to the core, the Georges III offers tons of immediacy, if a bit less nuance than is found in some of the other wines.
