This is a simple wine that lacks complexity in this difficult vintage. The 2014 Barolo dishes out candied fruit, licorice and aniseed. It's a nice, silky wine with a watery texture.

Prunotto's 2014 Barolo is a reasonably attractive, light-bodied wine to drink now and over the next few years. The challenges of the growing season are impossible to fully escape in this rather fleeting, washed out Barolo.
The 2014 Barolo is a big step up from the 2013, which is another sign of how much quality continues to improve at Prunotto. Silky, medium in body and gracious, the 2014 has a lot to offer. Hints of sweet tobacco, cedar and mint add aromatic intrigue as this gracious Barolo opens up with time in the glass. My impression is that it will offer its best drinking over the next handful of years. Even so, it is quite pretty and rewarding to drink today.
