The 2017 Pommard Les Pézérolles 1er Cru has a refined, intense bouquet of brambly red berry fruit, sous-bois and light rose petal scents that emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, quite tangy and peppery, delivering gentle grip and a more chalky-textured finish. Quintessentially Pommard, this should give 12–18 years of drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The 2017 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru comes from a single parcel of vines. The bouquet is very detailed and finely delineated; scents of rose petals infuse the red berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannin, bright red cherries and crushed strawberry, gaining harmony in the glass and culminating in an elegant, refined finish. Excellent.
About the producer
Descended from the Gros family of Vosne-Romanée, Anne-Françoise Gros established her own domaine in 1988. Today her children, Caroline and Mathias Parent, run the estate, which has some impressive holdings, focused in and around Vosne-Romanée.
