Tasting notes
VDP Grosse Lage. Reserve denotes a full two years on the gross lees. Smoky and herbal, expertly woven with a gossamer thread of citrus and pear. The palate dances between vibrance and velvet. Dried herbs, citrus zest and pure splintered stone. The extra year of lees contact lends a supple texture without compromising either depth or focus. (PS)

Two years on the lees. Lots of fresh grapefruit character on the nose and relatively low acidity on the palate for a Mosel. (JR)
From vines that are 75+ years old, surrounding the famous Terrassen selection, the 2017 Pündericher Marienburg Riesling GG Fahrlay opens with an intense, upfront, aromatic and highly concentrated nose of Riesling and mirabelle fruit intermingled with dark flint and silex aromas of crushed stones. On the palate, this is a rich, generous, lush, mouth-filling but also very intense and concentrated Riesling with lots of grip and power and lingering salinity. This is a long, complex and highly promising Fahrlay that needs another year to shine for the first time. A great wine worth collecting. Tasted in March 2019.
