Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2020-2036, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière seemed to handle the 100% new oak better than the Les Corbeaux, scents of mulberry, dark plum and a touch of marmalade gathering momentum with each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, quite dense in the mouth with good salinity, although I would have preferred the new oak to be more discrete towards the finish.

From a vineyard underneath Mazis. One new 300-litre cask. 80% whole bunch. Rich, sweet, spicy nose with some blackberries. Perhaps not with the punch and mass of the Corbeaux and a little more angular on the end although it does last a very long time. Lots of energy here. (JR)
