Barrel sample. 50 acres in Rouge du Bas. Lots of small stones. Vines 85 years old. 90% stems and 40% new oak. Mid ruby. An exotic, complex aroma of crushed red fruit. A hint of vanilla sweetness. Deep and darker fruited on the palate. Tender but dry tannins, delicate for this appellation. A lot of spice and darker fruit as it opens. Not as mineral as Clos de la Roche. Sweetness of fruit on the palate and imperceptible structure. So delicate. (JH)
