Score 88/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2018
The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Friggiali opens to a subdued bouquet with dried cherry aromas followed by light shadings of spice, licorice and pressed rose petal. The wine is tonic and clean with a high acidic threshold that keeps the palate refreshed. This Brunello could flesh out further with aging, but it also drinks nicely just out of the gate. Some 80,000 bottles were produced.

Just mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Sweet, fragrant and compact, youthful nose. Mouth-filling ripe cherry fruit that is not heavy. Fragrant but not hugely concentrated finish followed by powdery tannins and plenty of acidity. (WS) (JR)
