Firm and, at first, slightly austere with a suggestion of vegetation. It tasted much better when drunk with cheese. Some suggestion of cassis liqueur. Difficult for this wine to follow a succession of grands crus... (JR)

The 2014 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes seemed to have more fruit than the 2014 Cent-Vignes, bright dark cherry and blueberry, quite floral in style but with good energy levels. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berries, orange zest and quite a savory, minty finish that has a lot of charm. This should drink well over the next decade.
