Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru is broad, creamy and ample, as wines from this premier cru site so often are. Apricot, wild flowers, mint, lemon confit and lightly honeyed notes all flesh out in a racy Chablis that is all about textural depth and richness. All the elements meld together effortlessly. I imagine the 2017 will drink well with minimal cellaring, but it also clearly has the acidity and structure to age well for many years. It is one of my personal favorites in the range in 2017. This is a fabulous wine.

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu confirmed its strong showing of last year, opening in the glass with a classy bouquet of crisp green orchard fruit, oyster shell and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with excellent depth at the core, racy acids and a long, mineral finish.
Tank sample. Dusty, tangy herbal citrus. Almost peppery in its freshness. Juicy and fresh and perfectly balanced. GV (JH)
