Raspberries, olives and crushed flowers all emerge from Julien Pilon's 2014 Côte Rôtie La Porchette. It's medium-bodied, supple, seamless and even sexy on the palate, with no hard edges, notable purity and a great finish. Drink it over the coming decade.

Bright purple. Mineral-tinged aromas of black raspberry, cherry compote, licorice and candied violet show an exotic Asian spice nuance. At once rich and energetic, offering sappy red and dark berry flavors and hints of floral pastilles and five-spice powder. Picks up a hint of vanilla with air and finishes smooth, spicy and very long, leaving behind a bright mineral note.
