Tasting notes
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a superb bouquet, easily the best of the three Premier Crus Vosnes that I tasted from Jadot, exuding mineralité on the well-defined, expressive bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet ripe red berry fruit on the entry, joined by hints of marmalade and fig jam. It just loses some of its initial complexity toward the final half, which is such a shame after the superb aromatics. Hopefully that will be addressed during the remainder of its élevage .

Jadot's 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts (Maison Louis Jadot) bursts with expressive aromas of plummy fruit intermingled with Asian spices, smoked duck and orange rind. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, open-knit and supple, but it lacks some concentration and intensity. It's an easygoing middleweight that will drink well in its youth.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
