Tasting notes
The 2015 Pinot Noir Jaspis is mysterious on the nose: deep, intense and concentrated but also pure and with this bloody, iron-rich cassis flavor that drags you deep into the glass. The wine is beautifully concentrated but fine and fresh, with fleshy dark berry fruit, a fine and mineral acidity and tight but delicate tannin structure. This is a serious, very elegant and persistent Pinot with great precision, finesse and aging capacity. The finish is pure, vital and salty, full of vibrant tension and precision. A stunning wine that is at its earliest beginning of maturity. I'd rather keep it for four or five years though. This is so vibrantly fresh and full of energy, and compared to the fascinating Talrain, this is the more concentrated, dense and powerful wine with probably even more aging potential.

Deep ruby colour with purple rim. Aromas of blackberries, plums and cherries put together a generous offering of fruit, complemented by gentle notes of coffee and smoky bacon. Almost the only sign of oak aging comes once again in a fine smoky expression, while the rich fruit is well offset by a marked salty minerality. Inky and peppery nuances add further highlights; a touch of tobacco adds a subtle savoury notion to the finish. The young tannins are well absorbed by a truly rich texture. (MS)
