The second wine of Château d'Issan, the 2018 Blason D'Issan is another one of the those great second wines that already offers pleasure. Lots of ripe black cherry and currant fruits as well as notes of cedary herbs and dried flowers emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with an elegant texture and plenty of classic Margaux complexity and nuance. It's ideal for drinking over the coming 10-12 years or so.
The 2018 Blason d'Issan is a pretty rich, heady wine, just as it was in barrel. Dark-toned fruit, chocolate, leather and spice all flesh out in this juicy, flavorful second wine from Issan. Drink it over the next handful of years.
The 2018 Blason d’Issan has a fragrant bouquet of blackberry and cranberry laced with undergrowth and pipe tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and a cohesive, quite mineral-driven finish. This is a lovely Deuxième Vin in the making.
