Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2037, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020
Benoit Ente's 2017 Bourgogne Aligoté is derived from three parcels in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet—together amounting to one hectare—that were planted in 1949, 1963 and 2002 respectively, and which are pruned in cordon. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of fresh pear, lemon oil, pastry cream and a subtle touch of reduction that dissipates with aeration, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly satiny and enveloping, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, saline finish. This is one of the finest Aligoté bottlings to be found along the Côte, and it comes warmly recommended.
