Score 92/100 · Drink 2017-2026, David Schildknecht, Vinous, Aug 2017

Resinous notes from cask segue comfortably into high-toned, site-typical evocations of pungent mint, sage and lavender. Flatteringly silken-textured and subtly glycerol-slicked, this beauty’s cooling herbal elements are complemented by Bosc pear and luscious white peach, leading to a soothingly sustained finish. The balance and polish here demonstrate why Jesuitengarten (like Kirchenstück) has traditionally been thought of as even higher-class than its immediate neighbors.
