Tasting notes
Dark medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, tobacco, mocha and menthol are a bit lower-toned and more rustic than those of the 2015. Then surprisingly supple and sweet in the mouth, offering pliant red fruit flavors. Finishes with dusty, slightly oak-influenced tannins and good length and lift.

Straightforward crimson. Very direct nose – not much subtlety but straightforward impact. A bit strict. Lack of breadth. (JR)
Healthy deep red. Musky aromas and flavors of dark berries, leather, licorice, flowers and spices. Delivers seductive, mouthfilling sweetness with ripe acidity and smooth tannins."For me, Pinot Noir must be feminine," says Guillaume Tardy, who is particularly concerned with getting silky tannins in his Fixin.
The 2014 Fixin la Place, which was taken from a used barrel but will have 35% new oak by the time it is imprisoned in glass, has a elegant bouquet with quite lush red cherry and cranberry fruit, clean, pure and nicely focused. The palate has a sense of brightness on the entry. Crisp acidity, a nice bitter cherry edge towards the finish, this is a fine Fixin to enjoy over the next 6-8 years.
