2007 Petrucci

The 2007 Petrucci (Sangiovese) blossoms onto the palate with endless layers of candied cherries, sweet perfumed roses, truffles and spices. The fruit is beautifully succulent ( though at times pushing the edge of over ripeness ( while maintaining just enough acidity to keep things in balance. A soft, impeccable finish rounds out this seductive, joyous red. Scents of truffles, cherries and roses have the last say. The luxuriousness of the fruit is breathtaking, as is frankly everything about this wine. The 2007 Petrucci improved markedly with some air, so it is best opened in advance.
