Tasting notes
The Barolo San Lorenzo is the estate's flagship, and it is magnificent in 2006. Layers of dark fruit, spices, menthol, plums new leather and anise emerge from this deep, baritone Barolo. The aromatics and flavors are similar to the Gramolere but the San Lorenzo shows greater freshness and sheer vibrancy to the fruit which will allow it to age gracefully in the coming years.

Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031. This is a knock-out set of new releases from Fratelli Alessandria, one of Piedmont’s up and coming producers. Importer: Artisan Wine, Norwalk, CT; tel. (203) 866-4552
