Score 89/100 · Drink 1993-2002, Robert Parker, Oct 1992

Truchot-Martin's 1990s are the best wines he has made. Moreover, they are fairly priced. All are seductive, sexy, sweet, round, fragrant wines that beg to be drunk now. However, I am sure they will last, especially in the case of the two grands crus, for 8-10 years. The Clos de la Roche possesses the tell-tale earthy, mineral, leafy, leathery nose that so often emerges in wines from this grand cru vineyard. In the mouth, it reveals the jammy, opulent fruit of the vintage, more tannin and structure than the two premiers crus, and a spicy, leathery, intense, wet stone-like finish. This complex wine will be even more enjoyable to drink in 1-2 years; it should last for up to a decade . Importer: Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA.
