Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2037, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020
Revisited from bottle, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has turned out well, revealing aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, wild berries and sweet soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with good concentration, supple tannins and succulent acids. This is charming enough to be enjoyed young.

Bottled (early) late November. Mid to light crimson. Peppery dark-red fruit. Nicely chewy, honest and harmonious, there's some oak on the palate but enough fruit to fill it out. Juicy finish even though the tannins are quite firm. (JH)
