Very opulent and exciting on the nose. More depth and layers on the nose than you would expect of the appellation. The palate is a bit more standard but overall it’s VGV. (JR)

The 2015 Bourgogne Rouge saw 20% aged in new oak this year. It has a strident bouquet with ample black cherry, bilberry and cassis scents on the nose that is bolstered by the new oak. The palate is candied on the entry: blackcurrant and cassis fruit, an agreeable grainy texture that almost hides the succulence. It's a more "bullish" take on 2015 generic Burgundy. Drink over the next 3-4 years.
