Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Super-ripe black and blue fruits on the expansive nose. Broad, warm and pliant in the mouth, offering lush blackberry, cherry liqueur and plum jam flavors that pick up vanilla and espresso nuances with aeration. Distinctly rich, with serious heft and a long, smoky finish framed by velvety tannins. Aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels.

The hipster-looking 2015 Protos'27 has abundant balsamic aromas and plenty of flavors derived from its time in oak, apparently French, but with some vanilla and coconut undertones. The palate is medium-bodied and portrays some grainy tannins. It has the nostalgia of the old label but not really the same magic as the old wine. But it seems to be going that way... 45,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2017.
