Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot unfurls in the glass with an attractive bouquet of honeycomb, crisp yellow apple and waxy citrus rind. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and ample, with a vibrant but voluptuous profile and a pure, saline finish. Part of this cuvée is matured in wood, which has brought more texture but which doesn't appreciably mark the wine's aromas or flavors.

Some very attractive exotic fruit here with mango, papaya and melon, as well as peaches and more. A riot of fresh fruit and some gentle reductive funk that works well. The palate has a powerful core with exceptional depth and seamless, fleshy drive. Thereâs a lot to like here. Drink or hold.
Tank sample. Low-key nose but a suggestion of hidden depths. Good chiselled freshness on the palate. Probably worth waiting for. (JR)
