Score 88/100 · Drink 2017-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2016

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru En Orveau has a deep color. It has an earthy, stemmy bouquet that comes across as serious and maybe rather dour. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit on the entry. Grippy in the mouth with mulberry and red plum, I just feel that this needs to show more backbone and precision towards the finish. Could have been better? Tasted September 2016.
