Tasting notes
The 2017 Pommard Les Grands Epenots 1er Cru, which contains one-third whole cluster fruit, has a lovely earthy bouquet with scents of tobacco and sous-bois filtering through the black fruit. Fine delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a finely balanced and quite svelte Pommard with beautifully integrated oak towards the persistent finish. Recommended.

This has a bold fruit presence from the rich clay soils, delivering red and dark cherries with a very plush and fresh thread of long, succulent cherries on the palate. Long with fresh acidity, too. Drink or hold.
