Tasting notes
The 1999 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rotenberg Vieilles Vignes has, according to Humbrecht, the highest acidity of all of his 1999 Tokays and performed its malolactic fermentation. Citrus fruits can be found in its aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied and exuberant, it explodes on the palate with powerful waves of red berries, white currants, candied lemons, and a myriad of spices. This is an opulent, yet zesty wine, with immense power and depth. While it is not made for those requiring immediate gratification, it will repay those with patience. Drink it between 2006 and 2017.
