Tasting notes
Quite a heady nose but with very nice layered fruit. Chalky on the mid palate again with lovely savoury notes and fine tannins. Such gentle extraction here to get those silky tannins. Wonderful concentration of fruit with fig, tobacco and five spice. Elegantly powerful. (AC)

Made from vines that are claimed to be some of the oldest in McLaren Vale. Dark crimson. Rich and spicy on the nose with a hint of leather. Nicely balanced and really appetising. Not heavy or alcoholic. Savoury line and a clean, firm finish. Neat and brilliantly refreshing. (JR)
A selection of old-vine Shiraz, the 2014 Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is an inky-hued, concentrated wine, brimming with blueberries, mulberries and black currants. Structured and intense, it looks to have the build to go at least a decade, with firm but ripe tannins and cedary, vanilla-tinged oak framing fresh fruit. Give it another couple of years in the cellar, then drink it over the following decade.
