Score 87-88/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2018
Underbrush, leafy herbs, pepper and earth all show in the 2016 Saint Joseph, a charming, pure, polished red that has a soft, upfront, front end-loaded style. It's going to be a great mid-week drinker to enjoy in its first 4-5 years. Located in the northern part of Saint Joseph, this family-run estate has produced a bevy of high quality, noteworthy wines in both 2016 and 2015. Despite seeing plenty of new oak, I nevertheless find a very traditional style in the wines from Gaillard.

Sleek and succulent with savoury black fruit, pepper and brushed, soft tannin. Bright, tangy finish. (RH)
